Three individuals, including a woman, are accused of assaulting a grandmother in Perth with great force and stealing $200,000 worth of jewelry from her residence.
After supposedly being handed a phony police badge, Perth grandma Nannette, 73, and her 76-year-old husband Phillip allowed three men into their Girrawheen house.
As soon as Phillip opened the door, he was reportedly shoved to the ground and had his hands tied behind his back for restraint.
Nannette suffered even worse; she was supposedly restrained as the perpetrator struck her in the face many times, knocking her out.
Public and police alike were appalled by photos showing Nannette’s severely scarred and battered face.
Western Australia Police announced today that they have detained and charged two males and one woman for offenses connected to the April 16 aggravated home invasion.
In Nollamara, in Perth’s north, officers carried out multiple search warrant executions on Saturday.
Police allegedly discovered handcuffs, a WA Police badge wallet, and a police issue brim hat during their search of a home on Newhaven Way.
There were also reportedly other jewelry items found.
At the residence, a 24-year-old woman and a 38-year-old male were taken into custody.
The individual was accused of several crimes connected to the break-in.
Police searched a house on Bangalla Place in Balcatta, another northern suburb of Perth, on Sunday.
A 48-year-old lady was taken into custody by the police when it was claimed that she had driven three men to and from Nannette and Phillip’s house that evening.
During a raid on an Osborne Park residence, a 43-year-old man was also taken into custody.
He has been charged in connection with the burglary after police allegedly discovered multiple jewelry items at the residence.
Numerous other individuals have also been accused of similar offenses.
Before leaving the house on foot, it will be claimed that the accused stole jewelry and other valuables worth over $200,000.
