On his return to the church, the Sydney bishop who was allegedly stabbed two weeks ago received a standing ovation.
On April 15, while Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was preaching live from Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, a 16-year-old boy approached and allegedly stabbed him many times.
He preached a Palm Sunday sermon today in the church, which was also webcast.
“Every human being has the right to their freedom of speech and freedom of religion,” he told those in attendance.
The bishop expressed gratitude to the Orthodox Christian congregation for their kind words.
A sixteen-year-old boy is still in court on allegations of carrying out a terrorist attack.
