Following a suspected domestic dispute that resulted in an accused double stabbing in Sydney’s southwest, a man is battling for his life.
When neighbors heard a woman yelling for assistance at 8:45 p.m. yesterday, they raced to a residence on Campsie’s Ninth Avenue.
They found a 46-year-old guy with severe stab wounds to his face, arms, and chest, and a 53-year-old lady with a thigh wound.
“I opened the door and she was crying, just bleeding a lot, and a guy with me called the police,” said Binaya Dhel, the neighbor.
A neighbor discovered the 25-year-old male outside of their house after he ran up their driveway, alerting them to his whereabouts.
“A man was heard sprinting up our front yard,” Leon Kintis, a neighbor, reported. “We could hear the sirens at the time so we knew something was going on.”
He was detained and sent to Concord Hospital, where he is now being watched by police. According to Mark News, the 25-year-old male is a woman’s relative, and the two victims are a couple.
After being transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in critical condition, the 46-year-old guy is still there.
After receiving treatment on the spot, the 53-year-old woman’s condition is stable.
Police searched for the knife used in the alleged attack for fifteen hours, during which time Ninth and First Avenue remained closed.
The main front door was closed, and students from the adjoining Harcourt Public School were escorted through the back gate.
