When a bus and car crashed in Sydney’s west yesterday, a man died and numerous others, including a little kid, were hurt.
Emergency services were dispatched to the crash scene at Sanctuary Drive, Rouse Hill, at approximately 7:00 p.m.
According to investigators, neither alcohol nor speed were factors in the collision.
They are investigating the likelihood that the bus was not given enough time to stop when the driver of the automobile turned through a red light.
The man in the automobile, who was probably in his 60s, was given medical attention by paramedics but passed away immediately.
Rescue workers had to chop off the roof of the automobile in order to free the 40-year-old driver who was stuck inside.
He was brought to the hospital in a stable state.
Three additional passengers, including the driver’s four-year-old child, a woman in her 60s, and a 39-year-old woman, were transported to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The child’s car seat, according to the police, saved her life.
According to NSW Police’s Thomas Barnes, “We believe that significantly reduced the number of injuries that they ultimately sustained.”
“Drivers of motor vehicles need to take the responsibility that we as a community entrust on them and that the passengers in their vehicle entrust on them seriously.”
The bus’s 61-year-old driver was sent to Blacktown Hospital for required testing, but he was unharmed. Since then, he’s been let free.
