Following an alleged neighborhood quarrel that turned deadly in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales yesterday, a man has been charged with murder.
On Cambridge Avenue in Raymond Terrace, a fight first started between the two neighbors early on Tuesday morning.
Authorities were informed that a 38-year-old man had been allegedly attacked during an incident.
At around two in the morning, emergency services were contacted in response to allegations that the 38-year-old had suffered significant head injuries.
Although paramedics treated him, he passed away right away. Not far away, a 29-year-old male was taken into custody.
After being brought to the neighborhood police station, he was sent to Maitland Hospital for evaluation.
Since then, he has been accused of murder; he was not granted bail to appear in court today. According to a police spokeswoman, both of the men—the 29-year-old with a scooter and the dead man with an axe—were thought to be armed.
According to investigators, they were only “casually” acquainted as neighbors. Police are familiar with both males.
