In Melbourne’s southeast this morning, a car collided with a traffic light, killing a man.
The guy, in his 60s, was struck by a white Nissan Patrol traveling north at the intersection of Nepean Highway and Station Street in Moorabbin at approximately 9.10 a.m.
The traffic light, which was left lying across the roadway, is thought to have been struck by the car.
The man was brought to The Alfred Hospital with potentially fatal head injuries, where he eventually passed away.
The Patrol’s driver came to a stop at the scene. It is unknown what caused the collision and the man’s death at this time.
Investigators are looking to contact with anyone who has information as they believe there were other cars in the area at the time of the event.
