Grievances are being expressed for a Perth teenager who lost her life in an e-scooter accident in Wanneroo.
Last Friday, Ava Seculovic was pushed off her e-scooter and struck by a car while crossing Wanneroo Road near Dundebar Road.
The 13-year-old’s family asked for extra caution, stating that no parent should outlive their child, and recalled her as a kind, lively girl with a lovely grin.
After a week-long battle for her life, Ava lost on Thursday at Perth Children’s Hospital, forcing family members to say goodbye.
Wanneroo MP and Minister for Child Protection Sabine Winton described it as “an absolute tragedy”. “I can’t imagine what the parents and family are going through at the moment,” she stated.
Michael Seculovic, Ava’s father, honored his young daughter by stating, “I know you because I love you, thank you for everything… I’ll speak with you when I can.”
Online fundraising has been set up by other loved ones. “Her family are urging to share the message to other families – please make sure your kids are wearing helmets and take all safety measures to keep safe,” added the statement.
“No parent should outlive their child.” The event left the teenager with serious head damage.
Children under the age of sixteen are only permitted to ride low-powered scooters that have a top speed limit of 10 km/h by law.
Any additional money received, according to Ava’s family, will support other underprivileged kids at Perth Children’s Hospital.
