The grandpa, 71, lost his life in floodwaters when his car was found this morning in Greenbank, in Brisbane’s south.
Peter Wells, a local, lost his life early this morning when his pickup truck washed away at a flooded river crossing.
It is believed that he was only a short distance from his house.
At approximately five this morning, police were summoned to a property on Begley Road in reference to a submerged automobile.
According to authorities, his car was “found submerged in water.”
The coroner will receive a report from the police. In less than an hour, Greenbank received more than 150mm of rain, while 11 other locations received more than 100mm.
More over 150mm were reported in Jingle Downs near Amberley, and 101mm were recorded at Boonah in the Scenic Rim.
