The 40-year-old lady who sadly passed away in a Gold Coast high-rise apartment from a heroin overdose has been identified by police.
On Good Friday, Danielle Whittaker turned forty years old and was joined by six close friends to celebrate.
It’s thought that several of the women in the group took a combination of drugs while they were partying at a flat at the Ocean by Meriton in Surfers Paradise.
Just after 11 p.m., there were reports of many drug overdoses, so paramedics were called.
Whittaker had a cardiac arrest, and even with the greatest efforts of the paramedics, she was not going to come back to life.
Danielle started a business devoted to her cause and was transparent on social media about her desire to encourage other women.
The other two patients were discovered to be unconscious.
After being brought to Gold Coast University Hospital in critical condition, a 43-year-old woman’s condition has stabilised.
The other woman, 43, has now been discharged from the hospital.
