At Hastings Point, which is close to the Queensland–New South Wales boundary, a 17-year-old teenager drowned after plunging into the water.
Around 4:30 p.m., there were reports of an adolescent who had leaped off a bridge across Cudgera Creek and vanished under the water, prompting emergency services to dispatch a team to the scene.
After the youngster dove into the sea, rescue personnel were notified that he had momentarily emerged and then vanished beneath the surface.
It makes sense given that the water was shallow and the tide was dropping.
Locals helped with the search and a rescue helicopter was sent out.
The boy’s body was discovered by nearby residents, and although paramedics attempted their hardest, the kid could not be resuscitate.
The youngster died from what the police think was an unfortunate mishap.
