The family of a mother who passed away in Perth this morning while travelling to work has asked motorists to exercise caution over the Easter holiday weekend.
Sarah Maas, 47, left behind a husband and two teenage children when she was killed in a head-on collision.
In honour of his aunt, Nathan Maas, her bereaved nephew, urged drivers to drive carefully.
Sarah had been “a hard working, loving mother, and loving wife to her husband, who misses her greatly now” , he stated.
About 5.10 am, on Muchea East Road near Polinelli Road in Lower Chittering, Sarah’s family was building their dream home just around the corner from where her white Camry crashed head-on into a Jeep Cherokee.
The 54-year-old man who was operating the Jeep also perished.
Sarah was en route to her job at a gas station.
In a Facebook tribute, Sarah’s niece said, “Rest in peace, you’ll be missed by all.”
The broken family has urged people to drive carefully this weekend. Nathan said, “Just be careful out on the roads.”
“Best we can do is keep an eye out on the roads, and try our best to not be idiots.”
At the time of the collision, according to the police, neither motorist was using their phone or was intoxicated.
