A wealthy Upper North Shore home party in Sydney descended into violence overnight, with the host and two other men hospitalized following an alleged stabbing attack.
At around two in the morning, emergency services were summoned to North Turramurra following reports of a fight at the multimillion-dollar Stephanie Place residence.
A 28-year-old man who was stabbed multiple times in the stomach and chest was thought to be a guest. The host of the gathering, Matthew Harper, 31, is said to have been stabbed in the leg.
“I woke up and it was like people sounding like they were having a punch on,” said a witness.
According to a different witness, they heard girls running onto the road and shouting.
“It was quite scary, yeah, I just thought it was some people that had been to a party, but then it got really nasty,” said a neighbor.
A bloody knife was discovered by police outside a neighboring Somerset Avenue residence.
After being detained, a 30-year-old guy was brought to a hospital under police protection to receive treatment for facial injuries.
The two victims’ health are still stable at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Locals said that although police parties were starting to appear often on the street, they were unable to identify the individuals.
They claimed that loud music could be heard yesterday at noon, and that at first, only 20 people were gathered.
However, 12 hours later, shouting and screaming started.
“They didn’t look like people who are from the neighbourhood to be honest,” a person commented.
