After being struck by a car that was allegedly performing burnouts in the Port Stephens, New South Wales, region during night, two persons are now in the hospital.
Emergency services were dispatched to Somerset Drive, North Arm Cove, at approximately 11:40 p.m.
The driver of a white Ford Falcon sedan lost control and struck a power post and two persons who were standing next to it while the vehicle was doing burnouts in front of onlookers, according to information provided to the police.
The driver then ran away as the automobile caught fire.
After receiving emergency care for pelvis and leg injuries, a 20-year-old lady and a 14-year-old daughter were transported to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition.
To be examined by forensics, the vehicle has been seized.
