Customers are frustrated as the online banking system of Australia’s biggest lender has gone down.
At 9.30 p.m. today, Commonwealth Bank confirmed the outage, roughly 30 minutes after reports began to pour in on the website tracker Downdetector.
In an online message, the bank stated, “We’re aware some customers may be encountering difficulties with some of our services right now.”
“We apologise for any trouble this may have caused and are looking into this immediately. Here, we’ll offer more updates.
We apologise for any inconvenience. We appreciate your patience with us.
The message “We’re working to fix an issue affecting our services” appeared when users attempted to log into the CommBank app.
When complaints poured into the bank’s social media channels, a similar message appeared on the bank’s NetBank website.
“What is happening?” “I need to transfer money and I can’t access my account,” exclaimed a user of X, the old Twitter.
