Following the death of an infant near Brisbane more than 12 years ago, a lady has been charged with murder.
On September 2, 2011, officers are reported to have discovered a three-month-old girl “not breathing” at a residence in Redland Bay.
Queensland Police said in a statement, “The baby was transported to the Redland Bay Hospital and later the Mater Children’s Hospital, where she died on September 6, 2011.”
“The matter was investigated at the time, with the status of the investigation remaining undetermined.”
The police said they launched a new inquiry after learning more details about the event in January of this year.
“Yesterday, a 30-year-old Kingston woman was arrested and charged with murder,” police stated.
Refused bail, the Kingston woman is scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
