Following the discovery of a woman’s body in the boot of a car in northern New South Wales, a man has been prosecuted.
At 8:10 a.m., there was a welfare concern at a residence on Park Street in the seaside resort of Evans Head, so emergency services were contacted.
Police discovered a 60-year-old woman’s body in the car’s boot when they got there.
A 39-year-old male who was acquainted with the woman was reportedly taken into custody at the scene and brought to Ballina Police Station by the police.
The man is accused of killing someone and tampering with a body or human remains.
