Yesterday’s Lake Macquarie unit fire claimed one life and left another unaccounted for.
Yesterday at 4.10 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a unit fire on Railway Street in Teralba.
The flat sustained significant damage even though they were able to put out the fire.
At that time, there were two unaccounted for persons.
After searching the area overnight, crews found a person’s body today.
They are still unidentified.
As soon as the building is judged structurally sound, a second search will begin.
As of now, the fire’s origin remains unknown.
