Investigators are still trying to determine what caused a man and a woman to pass away at a house on a south Brisbane suburban street.
Yesterday evening around 7pm, authorities were summoned to Redhead Street in Doolandella, some 15 kilometers south of the CBD, and discovered the dead of a 29-year-old woman and a 34-year-old male.
Although they did not establish a romantic relationship, the police claimed that the man and woman were acquainted.
Detective Inspector Michael Hogan of the Queensland Police stated that last night while conducting their investigation, officers spoke with multiple people on the street.
“We’re not looking for any other person that may have been involved in this incident,” Hogan stated.
“We are, however, continuing to ask anyone who may have knowledge and any information that may have addressed the investigation to come forward to police.”
The inquiries of the police are being supported by two additional males who reside on the same property.
The men were presumably not at home at the time.
“I can confirm they’re not suspects and we’re not considering that they had any involvement in the deaths,” Hogan stated.
“They’ve been very cooperative and they’ve assisted us greatly.”
If there was ever domestic abuse in the past, it is being looked into by the police.
It was unclear to detectives whether the two were together or not, as well as whether a weapon had been discovered at the site.
According to Hogan, the house was empty at the time.
There is still a significant police presence at the location today.
The news of the fatalities stunned the neighbors down the street.
One neighbor remarked, “We’re really wondering if it is such a safe neighbourhood.”
“It’s a little frightening when things like that happen on your own street,” another neighbor remarked.
