Police are looking into whether the driver in this afternoon’s tragic incident in Adelaide was also involved in a hit-and-run just seconds before.
At the crossroads of Atlantis Drive and The Grove Way in Golden Grove, shortly after midday, a 32-year-old Blair Athol lady lost her life when her grey Hyundai was squashed between a red Ford Territory and a Corolla.
Fortuitously, a police vehicle stopped at the lights and saw the collision.
Authorities are currently looking into whether the red Ford Territory was engaged in a hit-and-run accident involving a rear-ender on The Grove Way just prior to the deadly tragedy.
“The driver of the Ford, a 61-year-old Hillbank man, was conveyed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” police said in a statement.
“The driver of the Corolla, a 42-year-old Golden Grove woman, was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
The Ford driver was “screaming and shouting when they got him out of his car,” according to a witness.
“You’re sorry. You’re presumably en route to shop, but you’re not really sure, are you? The witness stated, “One moment you’re fine, the next you’re not.”
This year’s fifteenth road death in South Australia is that of the woman.
