Following reports that a 23-year-old man was fatally stabbed at his north Adelaide residence, a man has been taken into custody and is anticipated to face murder charges.
It is said that just before 7 a.m., Dakota Woodford was attacked at his Henry Street, Paralowie home. His grandparents discovered him seriously hurt.
After being sent to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, he passed away shortly after.
“At this point, the line of inquiry is that we believe the victim may have been stabbed,” South Australia Police Superintendent Julie Thomas stated today.
Others were at home at the time of the incident, but no one else was hurt.
Shortly after, “in the vicinity of Trott Park,” according to Thomas, a 27-year-old Sheidow Park resident was taken into custody on the other side of the city.
“We believe they are acquainted with one another.
“It’s not clear why he came here this morning,” she continued.
“It’s very early in the investigation and any motive will form part of the investigation.”
Since this morning, forensic experts and crime scene investigators have been present.
They were observed identifying points of interest around the front of the property and inspecting bloodstains on the driveway.
While looking for a weapon at the scene, police also collected evidence.
The 27-year-old is assisting the authorities and is anticipated to face murder-related charges.
