Following a terrifying heist in Sydney’s southwest, a man has been charged.
Following complaints of an armed robbery, police were summoned to a pharmacy on Oaks Street at Thirlmere at approximately 12:50 p.m. on Saturday.
Officers were informed that a guy had allegedly “threatened staff members with a knife before taking items from the store” before driving off in a sedan with the information.
A sedan “matching the description of the vehicle used in the alleged robbery” was found the next day at Onslow Oval in Camden, around 30 kilometres away from the drugstore, according to police reports.
In a statement released on Monday, police verified that “the vehicle was searched and seized for forensic examination.”
“The vehicle’s 29-year-old owner reported that it had been stolen to police a short while later.
“Police arrived and arrested the 29-year-old before taking him to Narellan Police Station.”
The man showed up in Picton Local Court on Sunday after being accused with robbery with an offensive weapon.
Bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on April 24 was denied.
Police set up a crime scene at the pharmacy and began their investigation.
Police verified that nobody was hurt throughout the incident.
