Police knew of a man who passed away following his admission to a hospital in south-west Sydney with multiple gunshot wounds.
A 32-year-old Mount Druitt man was driven to Liverpool Hospital in a blue sedan overnight, according to NSW Police Superintendent Adam Whyte, at around 12.53 a.m.
Another man helped him into the hospital and hurried him to emergency.
The man died during surgery, seeming to have had two gunshot wounds.
Whyte would not disclose whether the second individual had been identified, but he did indicate that investigators had taken control of the blue automobile and that the man was known to the police.
He claimed that authorities were aware of the gunshot victim, who has not yet received a formal identity.
According to Whyte, the shooting seemed to be targeted.
The victim was unresponsive when he passed away, and police are still trying to locate the shooting site.
To ascertain the circumstances behind the occurrence, detectives are requesting assistance from the general public.
