Overnight, there was a magnitude 4.4 earthquake felt close to the Victorian town of Leongatha, which is southeast of Melbourne.
According to Geoscience Australia, the tremor struck around 1.55 am.
More than 5700 people in the state, thousands of them in Melbourne’s central business district and others as far north as Bendigo, have reported feeling the tremors.
According to Victoria SES, there haven’t been any injuries or damages yet.
It was the second earthquake in as many days to jolt Leongatha.
On Friday at 12:49 a.m., there was another earthquake of magnitude 4.3.
Thousands felt the tremors during it, from Wilson’s Promontory National Park in the south to Sunbury in Melbourne in the north.
