After it was claimed that a baby near Ipswich, Queensland, had been found with a stab wound, a young woman has been charged with attempted murder.
In Ripley, close to Ipswich, police reportedly discovered a three-month-old baby with “what appeared to be a stab wound to the abdomen” about 5:30 in the morning.
Queensland Police said in a statement that they “provided immediate first aid and took a 26-year-old woman who resides at the address with the child, into custody without incident.”
At Queensland’s Children’s Hospital, the infant is presently in a serious condition.
Monday is the woman’s scheduled appearance in Ipswich Magistrates Court; she is currently being held by police.
