After a woman’s body was found at a Tweed Heads property, a man has been charged with murder.
Following a report of concern for welfare, emergency personnel were dispatched to the Lakes Drive property at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
When Tweed Police District officers got there, they discovered the body of an unidentified woman. Her estimated age is in her 60s.
Following the event, police set up a crime scene and began their investigation.
Officers located a 25-year-old man on Kennedy Drive in Tweed Heads West who had hand injuries after conducting inquiries.
Under police protection, the man was sent to Tweed Heads Hospital for medical attention.
He was accused of murder after he was released from custody. He will now appear in court today after being denied bail.
