Following a gunshot incident in Brisbane that left three people injured, two men have been charged with attempted murder.
Due to a reported drive-by gunshot that caused chaos and fear, the city’s streets were closed off Friday night.
According to the police, one of the victims and one of the suspects knew one another, and the incident was a “targeted attack” on a male.
It was around 10.40 p.m. when a car containing the men sped passed terrified onlookers twice, making them hide in a kebab restaurant.
There were reports that the automobile fired bullets, causing people on Mary Street to run for safety.
Before a dramatic police chase, innocent bystanders were caught in the crossfire.
“We were just trying to hide from that fear. We could be shot, we don’t know,” labourer Shaban Kousa remarked.
Three individuals were shot, one of them was the supposed intended target, a thirty-something male who was struck in the leg and chest.
Two ladies, one in her 20s and the other in her late teens, were caught in the crossfire and sent to the hospital after being struck in the leg.
As seen According to Suzanne Hart, there was “just a pool of blood on the ground”.
The suspected culprits swerved between vehicles, accelerating on the Centenary Highway, until law enforcement, aided by the police aircraft, narrowed in on two individuals in Darra, where the Volkswagen was abandoned and set on fire.
They reportedly made a run for it on foot, but two males, who are 19 and 20, were apprehended by police and are accused of a number of offences, including four counts of attempted murder.
A 22-year-old male from Goodna is still wanted by the police in case he can help with inquiries.
Michael Hogan of Queensland Police stated, “We won’t really know what the motive was for why this attack was targeted against this individual until the investigation unfolds.”
The two detained males will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow after being denied bail.
“Anyone with information about his whereabouts should immediately contact police,” authorities advised.
It is also advised that witnesses or anyone with pertinent vision get in touch with the authorities.
