Following a boat accident in Sydney’s south this morning, an adolescent girl has passed away.
Two tinnies collided, according to NSW Police, close to the Greys Point boat ramp, which is roughly 30 km south of Sydney’s central business district.
After the collision, a 16-year-old girl was sent to St Georges Hospital with serious injuries; she subsequently passed away there.
For required testing, two 16-year-old boys were also brought to the hospital.
“Just after 10:15am today, emergency services were called to Swallow Rock, Greys Point, following reports two small aluminium vessels had collided,” according to a police statement.
“Paramedics from NSW Ambulance treated a 16-year-old girl on the spot; she was later transported to St. George Hospital, where she passed away.
“The vessels have been seized for examination and an investigation into the circumstance surrounding this incident has commenced.”
