Moments after police tried to pull over the motorbike rider, a father of two was killed in a motorbike crash in Sydney’s southwest.
Only minutes after the police attempted to pull Adam Moore, 38, over, he drove into a parked truck in Mount Pritchard early this morning.
Ben Moore, his brother, visited the crash site this afternoon to offer condolences.
“The best brother, he will be sadly missed, I don’t know what to say really,” Moore stated.
“He was just a good bloke, loved everyone, everyone loved him.”
Moore had two children and was a husband.
The biker allegedly ran a red light at the junction of Maxwell Avenue and Elizabeth Drive at Mount Pritchard around 12:10 a.m. today, and police said that an officer attempted to stop him.
The officer then reportedly turned on his lights and siren to pull the rider over when he allegedly veered onto the wrong side of the road.
For the sake of safety, he did not pursue the cyclist, according to Assistant Commissioner Stuart Smith.
At the close intersection of Dartford Street and Horton Street, a bystander notified the officer to an issue, and he proceeded with his patrol.
Speaking to the reporters, Smith stated, “The [same officer] continued to patrol the area…where he came across what we believe was a motorcyclist who had collided with a parked truck.”
“The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.”
According to Smith, the officer gave the 38-year-old first assistance and called for paramedics.
The circumstances behind the crash will be looked into as part of the critical event investigation that has been initiated.
