In the Scenic Rim area of Queensland, a “tragic” light plane crash claimed the lives of two individuals.
An hour south-west of Brisbane, at Boonah Airfield, is where police believe the jet took off and was returning to.
It collapsed close to a golf course on neighboring Dungandan’s Bruckner Hill Road.
Authorities are still looking into the incident and would like to talk to any witnesses who may have seen the collision at noon.
“Tragedy” was how Acting Inspector Kerry Olsen described the collision.
“If anyone has any form of footage – dash cam, home security of planes flying in the Boonah area if they are able to provide that,” she stated.
“We are very grateful that even though we have lost two lives, that it was not far worse.”
