While police look for a fourth suspect, two men and a woman have been charged in connection with the stabbing of a tourist in Adelaide’s CBD last week.
The 37-year-old guy, who wished to remain anonymous, had entered the city on Thursday while travelling from Sydney to the Northern Territory with his girlfriend.
He claimed that a group had threatened him with knives and demanded money when he left his Airbnb at around two in the morning to get his drone charger from his car parked on Franklin Street, close to Elizabeth Street.
Despite having scrapes on his hand and stab wounds to his arm and leg, the man managed to escape and find safety.
Two individuals were taken into custody yesterday at a residence in Adelaide, according to police investigations.
Another Adelaide property was the site of the arrest of a third suspect today.
According to a statement from the police, “a multi-tool that was stolen from the victim was recovered at a Campbelltown address today.”
Two people were charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault causing harm: a 25-year-old male from Campbelltown, an 18-year-old woman, and an 18-year-old man from Adelaide.
Bail was denied to them.
The horrible occurrence from last week was described by the victim.
“I attempted to shut the door, but two of them simply tried to open it, so they did.
“Abruptly, a second man merely pried open the driver’s door and slashed my throat with his knife.
“So I fell on the ground and just ran away and he tried to find the key but he couldn’t so I realised my key was in my pocket.”
He was discharged from the hospital after receiving minor injuries.
