Following what appears to have been a street fight in south Brisbane, a 14-year-old kid was stabbed and later taken to the hospital.
When police arrived on Runcorn’s Kalanda Street shortly after 11.20 p.m. yesterday, they saw a large number of persons gathering there.
The teenager had been stabbed in the abdomen, and responding officers treated him with first aid.
To take control of the situation, more police units, the dog squad, and a police aircraft were dispatched.
Two crime scenes were set up, one in the street where the injured kid was discovered and the other in the front garden of a house.
The 14-year-old was escorted by police to the hospital. It is unknown what condition he is in.
Five persons have been detained by police and are helping authorities with their inquiries.
The public is not in continuous danger, according to the police.
