After allegedly leaving a 77-year-old man with stab wounds during a home invasion in southeast Melbourne, an 18-year-old guy has been placed under arrest.
At approximately 11:45 p.m., the man reportedly went inside a Troups Creek Promenade house in Narre Warren and was challenged by the occupants.
He got into a “scuffle” with the 77-year-old man and his son, according to the police.
He is said to have drawn a knife during the altercation, stabbing both the father and the son in the hands.
According to a neighbour, they tracked down the men by following a blood trail.
“Heard some commotion, looked out the window and our next-door neighbours were wrestling with an intruder,” they reported.
“They were very shaken up.” A teenage girl and her father had allegedly interrupted the eighteen-year-old earlier that evening during a comparable event in neighbouring Hallam.
He allegedly left both scenes on a stolen dirt bike.
The suspected perpetrator was finally found by Victoria Police on Ohio Crescent, almost a kilometre away from the second residence, with help from the dog squad.
They claimed he abandoned the bike, leaped over fences, and then ascended to the rooftops of surrounding homes, removing a TV antenna in the process.
Tonight, the teenager was helping the police with their investigations.
