In the southeast of Queensland last night, during a strong storm, a woman was struck by a falling tree and died as a result.
Just before six o’clock at night, a woman was struck by a tree on Qually Road in Lockyer Waters, prompting the call of emergency services.
When Queensland Police arrived, the 70-year-old had injuries that may have killed him.
Queensland Police released a statement saying, “She was declared deceased a short time later.”
“Initial information indicates the woman was walking outdoors when the incident occurred.”
Winds of high to 87 kilometers per hour were reported during the storm, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
