Five days after an international student vanished, the body of a guy was discovered at a well-known beach south of Sydney. The police are currently attempting to properly identify the man.
Around 6.40 p.m. on Sunday, swimmers at Fairy Meadow Beach in Wollongong reported seeing a guy enter the sea and disappear.
At the same beach, a man’s body was recovered from the ocean this morning after 8 a.m.
Despite a thorough beach search by emergency services from NSW Police, NSW Marine Rescue, and Surf Life Saving NSW, the missing swimmer could not be located.
Surf life savers encountered difficult circumstances on Tuesday, when the swell doubled in size over the course of several hours.
This week, drones, inflatable boats, and jet skis have all been used in several searches.
According to reports in the local media, the swimmer who went missing is thought to be a 28-year-old international student attending the University of Wollongong.
