The attorney general of Western Australia has pledged to investigate the possibility of creating a national domestic violence register.
Alice McShera, 34, was discovered dead on Monday morning at approximately 11 a.m. in Perth’s Crown Towers in Burswood. It is suspected that she suffered severe head trauma from a blunt object.
Information regarding Australian family violence offenders would be available to the public through a database.
State Attorney General John Quigley stated on Wednesday, “It would have to be national and we would work with the police and other states to look for any opportunity to suppress DV so of course we will have a look at this.”
McShera is the 58th woman in Australia who has allegedly died as a result of domestic abuse this year. Col Blanch, the commissioner of WA police, stated that one murder was too many.
“Its not confined to WA, we have seen an increase in DV across the world and Australia,” Blanch stated.
McShera and Pearson are thought to have been dating domestically since January.
Pearson was discovered in the room by emergency services, allegedly suffering from severe injuries that he had caused himself.
The 42-year-old Bibra Lake resident was detained, treated at Royal Perth Hospital, and then released from the hospital when staff determined his condition was stable.
Later on, he was accused of murder.McShera was described as “a beautiful, much-loved girl who will be deeply missed” by her father.
