Following raids as part of the investigation into the gangland killing of Sydney underworld figure Alen Moradian, two individuals have been charged with murder.
The two men, ages 27 and 28, were hauled into custody this morning following raids in southwest Sydney.
The men will be accused by the police of being involved in the preparation of the cars used both before and after Moradian was shot.
On June 27, Moradian, 48, who had close ties to the Comanchero biker gang, was shot and killed in an underground parking garage on Spring Street at Bondi Junction.
In Zetland, police discovered a burnt-out Holden Commodore and a neighboring Porsche.
Homicide investigators assisted Eastern Suburbs Police area command officers in starting an investigation, which was later taken over by Task Force Magnus.
Established in July, the task force aims to stop gun-related crime and look into possible connections between a slew of shootings in Sydney, including the death of Moradian.
Detectives from Task Force Magnus carried out search warrants in Sydney’s southwest at around six in the morning, assisted by the Raptor Squad.
A 28-year-old guy was transported to Bankstown Police Station after an arrest of a 27-year-old man who was taken to Liverpool Police Station. This afternoon, they were accused of killing someone.
