After releasing two tamed snakes in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, a man has been charged.
The snakes were allegedly injured by the 25-year-old guy before being placed in a box outside his Mount Street, Coogee apartment, where they vanished.
After learning that her pet snakes, Bagel and Mango, had been released last Saturday, the 25-year-old owner of the snakes posted on a local Facebook page pleading for assistance in locating them.
“The snakes are domesticated and won’t survive in the wild,” she stated.
“I’m really scared for their safety, so please if anyone has seen them let me know,” she continued.
After the event, she called the police, who on Friday at 5:50 p.m. detained a 25-year-old man.
Two counts of destroying or damaging property valued at less than $2000 are brought against him.
It’s assumed that the two were acquainted. He will now appear in Parramatta Local Court today after being refused bail.
