Following a targeted shooting in Sydney’s north yesterday, police are looking for the shooter and the getaway driver.
According to Detective Acting Chief Superintendent Grant Taylor, two males were attacked by a person dressed all in black as they crossed Upper Pitt Street in Kirribilli.
He claimed that the 37-year-old male, who is well-known to the police, was the target of multiple shots fired by the perpetrator.
The shooter and another individual in a white Ford Ranger chased after the two men as they ran from the area.
The 37-year-old guy was hurt while he was leaving the area, according to Detective Acting Chief Superintendent Taylor. There were no injuries from the gunfire.
“It was not big. The target, a 37-year-old man, is not assisting us in our efforts to ascertain the circumstances behind this incident, he said.
Although the patient has declined medical attention, we think that the damage was sustained while fleeing rather than from a missile.
“It appears the (shooting) has been several days of planning and (the man) surveyed in some shape or form over that period of time.”It was clear that the goal of this shooting was to kill him.”
The 37-year-old guy is associated with both criminal motorcycle clubs and organised crime, according to Detective Acting Chief Superintendent Taylor.
He said, “We know him very well.” “We are exploring those links and if they are linked to the shooting.”
The Ford Ranger was discovered on fire in a Raymond Road, Neutral Bay parking lot shortly after.
According to police, two guys were seen stepping out of the car, setting it on fire, hopping into an orange Holden Commodore sedan, and taking off in an unidentified location.
On Harris Street in Harris Park, the orange Holden Commodore was discovered to have caught fire.
Chief Superintendent Taylor, the acting detective, stated, “We are following some leads around the area.”
All three of the locations have established crime scenes, which the police are treating as connected.
The driver and shooter are still at large, and police are looking for them.
Detective Acting Chief Superintendent Taylor stated, “We can say at least two individuals were involved in the shooting; there may be more, but that is something we are exploring.”
About 600 yards separated the prime minister’s official Sydney home, Kirribilli House, from the scene of the shooting.
