In Adelaide’s northeast, a woman who was apparently intoxicated swerved off the road, setting her car on fire while three children were inside.
When the woman was put through a breathalyser test by police following the collision at the crossroads of Montacute and Stradbroke in Newton, her result was 0.319, which is more than six times the legal limit.
When the Holden Barina caught fire, according to the police, she was travelling with four other people, three of whom were children.
Commissioner Grant Stevens stated, “poor decision-making puts people at risk and others on the road at risk.”The woman received a 12-month driving suspension right away. She will appear in court later.
