After his mother suffered severe head injuries and passed away in Sydney’s southwest, a man has been detained.
Around 7 o’clock on Sunday night, Bankstown firefighters were called to a house due to reports of a small fire there.
Firefighters discovered a 67-year-old woman with serious head injuries in the back of the house after they arrived and put out the fire.
She expired there and then.She suffered serious head injuries, but the precise cause of death won’t be known until after the post-mortem, according to Detective Superintendent Martin Hayston.
A 31-year-old male allegedly approached officers while wielding a kitchen knife when police arrived at the residence, according to Hayston.
Two policemen shot the man with Tasers. He was detained and sent to the hospital for evaluation, where he is now being watched after by police.
The mother and son were, according to Hayston, a guy and a woman.Additionally, he acknowledged that on Friday, two days earlier, at the Bankstown address, police had responded to a call.
Following that event, the man was charged, and police issued an apprehended violence order out of concern for the woman’s safety, according to Hayston.For the earlier incident, he is still being heard in court.
