Police are looking into whether speed played a role in the horrific incident in Perth that claimed the lives of three young men.
On the same route in Baldivis, just after 5 o’clock yesterday, a blue Kia traveling east and an Audi A3 traveling west collided.
Jaziah Thomas, 24, Kody Bell, 24, and William Bell, 21, the driver of the Audi and a father of two, were all slain at the site.
A fourth male, age 21, was rushed to the hospital with significant injuries. The Kia’s 44-year-old driver suffered only minor wounds.
Acting Inspector Brendon Barwick stated yesterday that first responders found the scene to be extremely upsetting.
It’s “hard to comprehend” losing three young people in one accident, according to Detective Senior Sargeant Adam Matson.
According to him, police will be investigating the crash’s cause, including speed and a variety of other variables.
According to some reports, not all passengers may have been using seatbelts at the time of the collision, he stated.
Tamekah Locker, Thomas’ partner, paid homage to the man she loves and the wonderful father of their children on Facebook.
“I keep waiting for you to just walk through the door and it breaks me apart to know you’re not going to,” she added. “It still doesn’t feel real.”
“Since we were 14, you have been my entire world, my best friend, and my person. I don’t know how I will survive without you; all I want is for you to come home.
“You were the perfect partner and dad; we are so lucky to have had you in our lives. We will never forget you and all of our memories.”
Additionally, William’s friend wrote a Facebook obituary praising his enormous heart and sense of humor.
The friend described the person as having “the biggest heart, the best sense of humor, and being one of a kind.”
“Willy, not a day will pass that you and Kody are not on our minds. May god bless and keep your family.” According to Matson, the probe might go on for several weeks.
