In Sydney’s west, a man is said to have been shot, and a lady was struck in the head with a baseball bat.
After shots were fired this afternoon at around 4:40 p.m. on Esme Avenue in Chester Hill, emergency services were contacted.
A family home was broken into by four people, who entered brandishing weapons, knives, and a baseball bat before threatening the occupants.
According to reports, the woman was struck on the head with a baseball bat, and the male was shot in the chest.
NSW Police said that following the suspected gunshot, they discovered a guy with minor wounds.
In a statement, NSW Police reported that paramedics from NSW Ambulance “treated him on the scene.”
He and the woman were both brought to the hospital and are doing well. Outside the residence where the event took place, police have been speaking with the victims’ families.
The reason for the shooting has not yet been determined.
The assailants made their escape on foot.Police stated that “a crime scene has been established and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.”
