In an effort to identify possible human remains discovered last week at a well-known tourist destination in Far North Queensland, police will look through missing people files.
A traveler discovered the bones on August 22 near Mossman Gorge, 20 kilometers north of Port Douglas.
On August 28 and 29, police divers searching the region discovered further suspected human remains.
The origin of the remains is being determined through forensic examination, according to the police.
A spokesman stated that “the extensive search has come to an end and no additional remains have been located.”
Months after a 54-year-old lady vanished from the Mossman River in January, the discovery was made.
