A luxury vehicle allegedly went over to the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with a young brother and sister in Sydney’s southwest.
The silver Toyota Echo was struck by the reportedly stolen Mercedes AMG around 9.40 p.m. last night on Sadleir Avenue in Heckenberg while it was attempting to overtake.
In the Toyota, a 24-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were killed instantly.
After finishing a shift at his new job at Kmart, the younger brother’s older sister picked him up.
Anthony Boyd, an acting assistant commissioner, stated that it was “very high speed” based on the video he had seen.
Boyd stated, “We’ll be able to determine when we examine that vehicle further how fast that speed was, so I’m unable to speculate.”
Following the initial collision, the Mercedes continued traveling until colliding with a stopped Toyota Rav4 and flipping over.
The Mercedes AMG rolled, and the three people inside managed to get out and into a VW Golf, which was a fourth vehicle, before driving away from the scene.
Later, when the police intercepted the VW Golf, an 18-year-old male driver was taken into custody.
Boyd stated that he found the behavior to be disgusting.”I believe that the collision’s nature in and of itself is wholly improper behavior in the first place, as is the fleeing the scene and failing to assist those in a vehicle.
“You might have been able to give them some kind of first aid that could have helped save their life.” He claimed that they had solid information and an important individual.
“All three would be a part of the investigation as to what criminal charges others in the vehicle would face would be a subject for the investigation.”
The brother and sister have not yet been given official identification. The two occupants of the Rav4 weren’t hurt. Police in Ashcroft confiscated the Volkswagen, and the 18-year-old driver was detained and transported to Liverpool Police Station at around 11.30 p.m. He was brought to Liverpool Hospital for a required test.
The 18-year-old has now been released, and police are still looking for the Mercedes’ occupants.
