According to police, a 28-year-old man who was struck by a car in Murraylands, South Australia, on Sunday night has passed away in the hospital.
At the site on King George Street, when emergency services arrived shortly after 7 o’clock, the pedestrian, who was from Mannum, was given medical attention by paramedics.
He was then transported to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a severe condition.
On Monday afternoon, police announced that “unfortunately, the young man died of his injuries today.”
The Major Crash unit of the SA Police is looking into the collision’s circumstances.
The car’s driver, a 72-year-old Mannum resident, was transported to the neighborhood hospital as a precaution but was reportedly “not physically hurt,” according to police.
In South Australia this year, there have been 76 fatalities as a result of traffic accidents, compared to 48 at this time last year.
A motorcycle rider and a motorist were both rushed to the RAH on Sunday night following a collision on North East Road in the Adelaide suburb of Hillcrest.
The cyclist, a 28-year-old Parafield Gardens male, sustained critical but not life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a Salisbury East resident aged 25, suffered only minor wounds.
