An 18-year-old woman is said to have been sexually assaulted in the sand dunes of a NSW town by a guy who has been charged.
While Matildas supporters watched the Women’s World Cup semifinal between England on a screen at the nearby Town Beach Amphitheatre, the alleged attack on the 18-year-old allegedly took place in Port Macquarie.
According to police, the man allegedly approached the teen on Stewart Street.
He allegedly forced her into some adjacent sand dunes, attacked her sexually, and then left.
At 5:15 on Wednesday, a 25-year-old male was taken into custody.
He was transported to the Port Macquarie Police Station, where he was accused of having sex with another person without their permission and touching them inappropriately.
The individual was scheduled to appear today in Port Macquarie Local Court but was denied bail.
