In connection with the alleged gang rape of a young woman in Adelaide’s western suburbs in June, a fifth man has been charged in court.
Detectives from the Special Crimes Investigation Section extradited 26-year-old Mohammed Abdi Abdulahi from Victoria, and he appeared before the Adelaide Magistrates Court.
He didn’t request bail.
He is one of five males accused of assaulting a young woman sexually on June 18 on Sunday.
Four further guys, aged 27 and 22, from the west of Adelaide, 22, from Victoria, and 24, from the south-east of South Australia, are still being held in jail.
The case was scheduled for a committal hearing in September, and several people have bail petitions due at the end of the month.
The man from the southeast made an appearance last Thursday in Mount Gambier Magistrates Court, when it was revealed that police were still looking for a fifth suspect who was then “outstanding” at the time.
