The bus firm that owned the vehicle at the center of the disaster is being sued by the father of one of the Hunter Valley bus crash victims.
Following a banquet at Wandin Valley Estate on June 11, a tragic bus rollover left ten wedding guests dead and 25 injured.
The victims of the collision included Kane Symons, Angus Craig, Rebecca Mullen, Darcy Bulman, Nadene and Kyah McBride, Andrew and Lynan Scott, Tori Cowburn, and Zachary Bray.
62 charges against the driver, Brett Button, are still pending in court.
After meeting with attorneys, Adam Bray, who lost his son Zach, is bringing a class action lawsuit against Linq Buslines.
According to him, they did not fulfill their responsibilities under the heavy truck operators’ chain of responsibility laws.
In the coming week, Bray intends to meet with each victim’s family.
Bray and the other taskforce members from the “Stop Bus Tragedies” initiative have been invited by the federal transport minister to a roundtable of business and political leaders to discuss their safety recommendations.
The discussion will discuss driving and speed monitoring devices, as well as seatbelt requirements.
The group has also started a petition to get the House of Representatives to take notice of its effort.
