In Queensland, the nation’s first multiple-projection theater will open.
This week, ScreenX, a 67-metre, 270-degree screen, opens in Robina on the Gold Coast.
It’s the first theater of its kind to open in Australia, and more are anticipated to follow later this year.
The additional screens will be used to give viewers an immersive experience while retaining the front screen where the majority of the action takes place.
According to Event Cinemas spokesperson Liberty Wilson, “selected movie scenes will really use these side screens to fill your peripheral vision.”
“You really get the sense that you’re in the middle of the action.”
To be able to play on ScreenX, movies must be shot using specialized film equipment designed for larger theater displays.
The future Marvel films are participating, we can confirm.
