Two individuals are in hospitals after a car and bus collided in Sydney’s inner west and the former plowed into a bus shelter.
At before 7.50 am, according to Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry, emergency services were summoned to the bus shelter on Victoria Road in Drummoyne.
According to him, it appeared that a bus and a car had collided, and “one of the vehicles” had subsequently struck someone within a bus shelter.
That person was brought to a medical facility.
Before the driver could be rescued, according to Dewberry, the side of the car had to be hacked away.
They had upper body and limb injuries when they were transported to the hospital.
About 15 passengers safely exited the bus.
Victoria Road’s two eastbound lanes were shut down, however they are now open again.
However, according to Live Traffic Sydney, there are still substantial traffic delays, with lines reaching all the way back to Gladesville.
